Activate Your GPMBoxPlus License

How to activate GPMBoxPlus with a license key via Help → Active License…, where to get your key, and what each activation status message in the dialog means.

Why is activation required?

Without activation you can still open GPMBoxPlus and create and edit virtual machines as usual. However, no virtual machine can start — not from the command line, not headless and not when restoring a saved state. When you click Start, the software shows “This copy of the product is not activated.” with an Active License... button.

Get your license key

Buy and manage licenses at account.gpmsoftwares.com. A license key is bound to the computer it is activated on. The device ID is derived from the CPU and hardware serial numbers of the physical machine.

Activation steps

  1. Open the activation dialog

    In the main GPMBoxPlus window, open the Help menu and choose the last item, Active License.... Its description reads “Activate this copy with a license key”.

    Alternatively, click Start on a virtual machine. When the not activated dialog appears, click Active License... in that dialog.

  2. Enter your license key

    ActivateClose

    Paste your license key into the License key: field. This is the only field in the dialog — no email or password is needed.

  3. Click Activate

    Click Activate. The status line shows “Contacting the license server...” for a few seconds. On success, the status changes to “This copy is activated.” and the main window's title bar gains (Premium version). Click Close.

    If you opened the dialog from the message shown when clicking Start, GPMBoxPlus starts the virtual machine again automatically right after successful activation.

Status messages in the dialog
